A moment of calmness.
We did it.
But did we?
After days, months, years of
pain
sadness
murder in the streets
protests
division
brashness
sexism
racism
proud boys
ICE
will we see change?
Change could have always been there.
Why do we ignore the power we’ve had?
The power that we gave mediocre men and women.
Sure, we have had some loud voices
but we have also had many that shrunk
whispered
stayed silent.
Perhaps now as we
broke records
made history
showed up
voted
we will rise up
show up
fight
for our nation.
From fear
unknown
divison
tears
to hope.
Hope for tomorrow
our kids
our daughters
our sons
our mothers
our neighbors
our immigrants
our community
our friends
our family
our partners
our opposition.
Hope that we can all move forward
work together
build back better
stronger.
Because isn’t that what it’s all about?
Making America Great Again?
Was it not already great?
Who was it not great for?
The ones who continue to face
opposition
discrimination
isolation
immigration
red tape
hatred
misunderstanding.
But instead of
helping
building
thriving
developing
understating
accepting
it has only gotten
worse
harder
scarier
unsafe
complicated.
America has been great for those who are anything but discriminated against.
Now, we have hope.
Hope that our
kids
daughters
sons
mothers
neighbors
immigrants
community
friends
family
partners
opposition
can live
thrive
feel safe
graduate
grow old.
Hope.
For a better America.
Where everyone feels great again.
